Constantly Learning

The past couple of weeks have been interesting. Since Bodhi's fall, he has been sick and has had a swelling on the left side of his head - the jury is still out on what that's all about. It also seems that through all of this, Bodhi has become a new man. He is happy and silly as always, but he has definitely changed. He's been talking for a long time, but now its different. He can really tell you what he wants and how he feels, what's bothering him and what's making him laugh. It's hard to know if he's actually communicating better or if we're just really in sync with each other - maybe a bit of both.

Bodhi also seems to be entering his "terrible twos" as they're known. He can get REALLY upset REALLY quickly and it is getting increasingly harder to console him. Yesterday it took the two of us about 15 minutes to walk one block because of the meltdown he was having. Much like his mama, Bodhi does not enjoy being hungry or tired. So now it is a game of understanding his new cues. After almost two years of knowing when he needs to eat, how much and how often, the game has changed. It seems that Bodhi has become a 'grazer'. I've taken to feeding him little bits constantly throughout the morning and this seems to be having a positive effect. Fingers crossed!

Throughout all this though, it hardly seems unmanageable. 95% of the day is still spent laughing, wrestling (poor Clara!), and with general silliness - that is the 95% of the day that I live for.
