Bodhi goes Bananas!

We had a very momentous day today - on many levels - all of which involved food. Welcome to our family! First of all (and definitely the most exciting), today Bodhi had his first taste of solid food. He had a tablespoon of mashed bananas and he LOVED IT. He kept leaning hungrily towards the spoon and just kept wanting more! It was very cute and very exciting for all of us. He would take a little nibble and then shiver all over, and then of course lean in for more.

After a great afternoon of just basically lounging around the house together, we decided it was time to venture out and attempt to go out for dinner with Bodhi in tow. We've gone out for breakfast a couple of times - once on Father's Day when Bodhi was only 5 or 6 weeks old and Dan spent the whole time walking around the restaurant with him while I quickly shoveled food in my mouth. We've also gone out for breakfast and lunch a few times with family, which always seems like a piece of cake because there are so many laps for Bodhi to sit on! This was our first dinner out as our little family. We decided to go to East Side Mario's, thinking that people there would be unlikely to get too upset if he fussed and cried. We set him up in a highchair - again, another first - and he happily played with his toys and tried to eat both the tablecloth and the arms of the highchair while Dan and I had a really nice dinner - I think we even had a full conversation AND dessert! Bodhi was a complete angel the whole time - the only noise he made were high pitched squeals of delight - it was a really nice tablecloth.

All in all, a wonderful day. Tonight, while we were putting him to bed, Bodhi rolled over in his crib and looked like he was about to crawl right to the other end. He's now up on his hands and knees and starting to figure out how to propel himself - any day now!
