Happy 1/2 birthday Bodhi! The past 6 months have flown by so quickly and on November 7th Bodhi celebrated his 1/2 birthday. There were balloons and Happy Birthday banners and Bodhi opened his present - a new bath tub - but he was much more interested in the tissue paper that it was wrapped in! I thought as a special 1/2 birthday entry, I would write a note to Bodhi:
Hi honey! Happy 1/2 Birthday! The past six months have been the best I've ever had. They have been amazing, warm, cuddly, sweet, slightly tiring, challenging, eye-opening and completely life changing. You have turned my life upside down in the most wonderful, positive way possible. That is your way. You have been so sunny and bright since the day you were born and you have touched us with your positivity in a way that I feel like I'll be spending the rest of my life thanking you for it. You have taught me to be patient, positive, aware, and most of all - you have taught me how to have this pure love. You make me so happy.
You have grown up so fast and you have changed from this amazing little newborn into a wonderful little boy. You are funny and sweet and you smile at everything. You laugh like crazy at the silliest things and you follow your Daddy wherever he goes. You have just learned to sit up on your own and would spend the whole day there with your toys if I didn't make you pay attention to me! You are babbling all the time now - da-da-da mostly and I can't wait for you to learn how to say ma-ma! You love to sing songs - well, you love it when I sing songs to you. You are a hit wherever we go - giving everyone you meet smiles and giggles. You're very into 'peek-a-boo' right now and are completely obsessed with your jolly jumper. Your favourite new trick is to roll over on your tummy in your crib at night and check everything out - you are very curious! You aren't much of a crier and just kinda grunt whenever you want anything - tired, hungry or wet. But all we have to do is look at you and you're laughing again. What a joker!
Like I said, these have been the best six months of my life getting to know you. I can't wait for all that lies ahead of us but I keep reminding myself that I have to enjoy every moment. And I do!
