This Easter weekend was chock full of family and friends (and chocolate)! We left after work on Thursday and drove to Kingston to visit Grandma, Uncle Brett, Aunt Karen, Sophie and Clara. We spent two days having so much fun with Bodhi's cousins - easter egg hunts, family dinners and some serious playtime was had. It's so funny to see Bodhi and Clara together at this age (Clara is 4 months older than Bodhi) - they're now interested in the same toys which has led to Bodhi's first real lessons in sharing! They're so cute together sitting side by side, occasionally trying to poke each other in the eye, but mostly just enjoying each other's company. After a great visit with them we drove back to Toronto for the night and then off to St. Catharine's in the morning to see Bodhi's Great Grandma. It's always so nice to visit Great Grandma and she's always so sweet with Bodhi - spoiling him with a stuffed Easter bunny and bringing out the infamous box of toys that includes Bodhi's favourite - a phone he is actually allowed to play with (of course, after a few minutes of playing and realizing he's actually allowed to play with this one, it became a lot less interesting and he ventured off to find a phone that he wasn't allowed to play with - cheeky boy).
A few small milestones were met this weekend as well. Bodhi is now standing a lot more comfortably and seems to actually want to stand a lot more often. He still wants to hold onto someone while he stands, but can stand on his own no problem. I'll let go of him while he's standing and he'll just keep standing there until he realizes that no one is holding him and sit down as quickly as he can! Just need to build some standing confidence now! Also, Bodhi climbed up three stairs on his own at Great Grandma's (under the watchful eye of his Grandma). I was thanking my lucky stars that we live in a one floor apartment and don't have to worry about gates and barricades! Bodhi is also now eating finger foods quite happily - mostly soft fruits (mango and pineapple) or sticks of cucumber, celery or pear. Not long now until we can ditch the purees for good! At which point Aunt Karen says she's going to sneak him off to KFC! Gotta keep an eye on that one!
Bodhi was his usual happy, friendly self all weekend and we all really got to enjoy our visits. Now back to the grind and bootcamp for Bodhi. Stage One of Bodhi weaning takes place this week with no more nursing in the night. Wish us all luck!!!!
