Camping, interviews and family time!

Whew! We've just returned from a whirlwind 5 days away. On Friday we drove down to Kingston with the intention of hopping in the car and heading out to Frontenac Park for our annual Christopher family canoe trip. When we got there it really looked like rain so we decided to wait to leave until the morning - a decision that turned out to be a good one since it poured rain that night! On Saturday morning we set out on our way. Dan and Bodhi hiked in the campsite while Mom and I paddled all of our gear and met them at the site. Brett, Karen, Sophie and Clara were just minutes behind us and Liz arrived a couple hours later. We had an amazing time playing in the dirt, rolling around in our huge tent and roasting marshmallows. The highlight of the trip for me was seeing my little man walking all over in the middle of the woods - Bodhi is now officially a walker! Bodhi also went on his first canoe ride! It was cut very short because he was very determined to stand up while in the boat.

The next afternoon we headed back to Kingston - Dan and I paddled out while Bodhi hiked out with Grandma. Monday and Tuesday Dan had two interviews which both went really well, fingers crossed! We're now back home where we're all ready to relax and spend time together.

Tomorrow is going to be a difficult day for us all - I'm heading back to work. And although I know that it's only for a few weeks, I can't help but feel so down about it. I know that it's just the first few days that will be hard and that it will get easier for us and the days go on, but it's hard to picture that feeling right now. Tomorrow will quite possibly be one of the hardest days of my life.
