Bermuda!

Bodhi and I just returned from a FANTASTIC trip to Bermuda! We left last Tuesday night and stayed overnight at an airport hotel (we will skip the details on this evening as they weren't pretty!) then headed off to the airport bright and early the next morning. Dan was off at sesshin for the week so it was a Mommy-Bodhi solo trip. Grandpa and Morgan met us at the airport when we got there are whisked us off for a whirlwind (+ napping) tour of the island. Bermuda is an absolutely beautiful island. It's so interesting to me to see palm trees mixed with pine trees on an island that you consider the Caribbean (which it isn't - but I always just pictured it that way). Bermuda is impeccably clean and maintained - we even saw public works trucks out sweeping the roads and apparently they pick up your garbage on a Saturday if they miss you because of a holiday! Imagine that! We ended up at Grandpa's school where we picked up Rheanne and Quinn and met some of Grandpa's co-workers - Bodhi was a pretty famous there - everyone already knew his name and Quinn had even brought in a picture of Bodhi for his class to see. The following day while everyone was at work and school, Bodhi and I went off on a little adventure of our own and toured around the city of Hamilton then met Grandpa and Rheanne for lunch then home for a nap (both of us!). The next few days were spent touring the island with Grandpa, visiting the Bermuda Zoo-quarium with the boys and eating A LOT of Rheanne's fabulous baking. Bodhi had such a good time playing with the boys who treated him like an absolute prince - always making sure that he had his water cup, bringing him extra stuffed animals for his crib, and even singing him lullabies when he couldn't fall asleep. Those are some special little guys - but I already knew that!

For my part, I came back from this vacation feeling rested and relaxed thanks to Dad and Rheanne. They made us so comfortable in their beautiful home by the water and seemed to know just what we both needed all the time. It was so nice to see all of them and really hard to leave them. I felt really teary saying goodbye to those two little cherubic faced boys and am still a little teary now. I'm glad to have gone to see where they live and work and play - now they seem a little less far away. The summer will be here before we know it and the crew will be back in Ontario for us to harass!

Now back to our daily life here in Kingston, which ain't so bad itself!
