Thanksgiving in Cambridge!

I love fall weekends! This weekend was so beautiful - 25 degrees and hot hot hot! On Saturday we all piled in the car to go visit friends, but after an hour and a half of stop and go highway driving and a boy in the back who was growing more impatient by the minute, we decided to turn around. What could have been seen as a waste of time actually turned into a nice country drive! Dan and I are so busy doing this and that, that it was nice to sit and chat and have nothing else to do or focus on (besides the driving, of course) while Bodhi napped in the back seat. Sunday morning we woke up bright and early, packed up the car and headed to Cambridge for Thanksgiving. After breakfast we decided to head to Yee Haw Adventure Farm - a family run operation that is a farm year round and opens to the public with games and shows in the fall. Bodhi got back to nature having his diaper changed on a bale of hay and watching the pig races with great intrigue!

Thanksgiving dinner was great (there were a couple of turkey nappers on the couches afterwards - a sign of a good dinner!). Then the three of us climbed into bed and had a great cuddly sleep. In the morning we woke up and had a great visit with the family before heading back to Toronto. Monday afternoon was a cozy, huddle in, order pizza kind of day - so nice.

So, since we've just finished our first Thanksgiving with our boy, I guess it's only appropriate to write what I am thankful for....

I am thankful for Bodhi. I know that's pretty general, but he's a pretty all-encompassing little being.
I am thankful for Dan. I am thankful for his positivity, his spirit and his gentle nature. I am thankful for having such a strong and dependable parenting partner. I am thankful for how much love there is between us.
I am thankful for my family. Every last one of them. These are people who I think about every day and would spend all of my time with if I could. They are supportive and funny and easy to be around. They are extremely special people.
I am thankful for this year. I feel so privileged and lucky to be given this time to bond with my son and with myself.
I am thankful to be Canadian (something that is getting a lot of thought today - election day).
I am thankful to have what I have and that I never have to want for anything.
I am thankful for so much - this could go on forever.

What are you thankful for?
