Settling in

We've now been in Kingston for over a week and it already really feels like home. We spent the past week getting our things sorted out and the house is almost set up at this point. We had family over for dinner last night (Grandma, Liz, Aunt Karen, Uncle Brett, Sophie and Clara) so we had a goal in mind to have the house ready to receive guests by then! It's amazing how quickly you can get your act together when you know people will be coming over! Our things fit perfectly in this house and the kitchen/playroom in the back is the perfect hang out. Bodhi and I have been spending our days at McBurney Park (across the street from our house), taking strolls downtown, and playing with our cousins. We've walked down to meet Dan for lunch (only 5 minutes away!) and have gotten to know all the local take out joints very quickly!

The neighbourhood that we're living in is, as Karen puts it, very "colourful". There are beautiful well-maintained old homes interspersed with lower income dwellings. It's actually really nice and I feel comfortable and safe here. It's fantastic to only be a 2 minute walk from downtown, across the street from a great park, 5 minutes from Dan's work, 10 minutes from the grocery store (or 1 minute from the REALLY expensive one), and 5 minutes from the local Early Years Centre where we're going to venture this week.

Bodhi has also settled in really well into his new home. It's great that we were able to move into a house that he's already familiar with and feels comfortable exploring. Sleep is a little shaky at the moment, but we know that he needs a little time to adjust before the full on sleep intervention takes place. Right now he just seems really really happy.

So far so good!
