This week the three of us took a much needed family vacation to our favourite spot - Deerhurst Resort near Huntsville. We left on Sunday and had a nice leisurely drive up North with one quick stop - Bodhi did great. We settled into our room and Dan and I both just took a deep breath and smiled. We really haven't taken time like this since Bodhi was born. Dan had to go back to work so quickly after we came out of the hospital and it seems like our weekends since have been packed full. We've had an amazing summer with friends and family, but it was really nice to just be together. Just the three of us. Just our little family.
We took Bodhi swimming a couple of times and by the second swim (his fourth time in a pool) he was finally smiling while he was in there! Up until then he'd been very serious in the water. Not upset, but not necessarily happy either!
The highlight of the trip was definitely the time that Bodhi and Dan got to spend together. Really good quality visits that weren't interrupted by work or sleep or general busy-ness. There is so much love between those two. I could sit and watch them interact forever - singing, giggling and talking away. Needless to say, Bodhi hasn't taken his sweet eyes off Dan since we got home. I have quickly become chopped liver in this household! Move over Mommy!
