Giving thanks

Another wonderful Thanksgiving weekend has come and gone. I love Thanksgiving weekend. I love the fall colours, the time spent with family, bundling up in sweaters, and, of course, the turkey dinner. This weekend we spent some really good quality family time - taking walks, feeding ducks, playing in parks, and then a great day spent at Grandma's house. Bodhi was very excited about the bocce ball game on the lawn (mostly excited because its a game that consists of a lot of different coloured balls, VERY interesting). He had fun playing with Sophie and Clara, watching Mommy paddle the lake with Grandma, eating tofurkey, and...wait for it...sampling his FIRST ice cream. It was a big hit!

So while we're on the subject, today I feel very thankful. I feel thankful for Dan and all of my family. I feel thankful that I have the opportunities that I do - to stay home with my sweet boy and pursue something that really interests me - it is not lost on me that most moms aren't as lucky in this respect. Mostly, these days, I feel so thankful for the wonderful, sweet, smart, healthy little boy that I am privileged to parent.

Big news in our house this week is that we have finally introduced dairy and wheat into Bodhi's diet. He can now eat everything (except meat) and we are all excited about how much easier this will make our lives! No longer will he need to eat $8 bread, vegan muffins, or brown rice pasta (although, these things will probably still stick around). Saturday morning he woke up to a big plate of pancakes (which ended up mostly being a syrup feast), and yesterday he at a sandwich on whole wheat bread, crackers, and ice cream. It's a whole new world!!! Later this week....cheese!
