This definitely deserves its own post. Over the past couple of months Bodhi has developed what can only be classified as an 'obsession' with spoons. He has always had a thing about having something in his hand - for a while it was a measuring cup, sometimes it would be a certain block, but now, only a spoon will do. He pretty much constantly has a spoon in his hand. Everywhere you look in our house you will find a spoon that has been discarded for another. This morning there was a spoon next to our bed, another in the bathroom, one in his little chair in the living room, one in his basket of books and another in his tub of crayons - although none in the cutlery drawer! He doesn't discriminate when it comes to spoons either - favourites include the tiny spoons that came with our espresso cups and the spoons with the plastic white handles that came with our picnic set - but the slotted spoons and salad tossers also make the rounds.
Bodhi's newest (and most common) form of communication is to say "nonononono" over and over again if there's something that he wants. Inevitably when I hear him saying this, a spoon isn't too far away - and just out of his reach. Just pass him the spoon and he's on his way again. What a funny boy.
