A letter to Bodhi about Daddy

Dear Bodhi:

There are many things that I want to make sure that you remember when you are older - a lot of which involve your relationship with your Daddy. I thought I would write some of these down so that when you are old enough to understand, you will know how much your Daddy has loved you right from the start.

- When you were born, you slept soundly on your Daddy's chest for 3 straight days in the hospital.
- Daddy puts you to bed every night - he reads you 3 stories, sings you a song, and then the two of you cuddle until you fall asleep (sometimes he falls asleep too!)
- Everywhere he goes, Daddy is thinking of you. When he saw the first leaf fall this autumn, he brought it home for you. You then used it to make some beautiful artwork for Daddy that we hung on the wall.
- You will only sit still if its on your Daddy's lap. As soon as he picks you up and puts you on his lap, you cuddle right in and never want to leave.
- You love to sit up on the high stool next to Daddy to eat your breakfast. Daddy sits with his arm around you and the two of you munch away.
- Daddy is the only one who can get you to sit in your highchair. He picks you up and makes funny robot noises while he straps you in. You laugh and look up at him adoringly.
- Every day when Daddy gets home from work, you drop whatever it is you are doing and race towards him. This is your favourite time of day.
- You fit perfectly in your Daddy's arms. You could stay there for days with your head on his shoulder and your little arms around his neck.
- You laugh hysterically when Daddy tickles your belly. He picks you up and puts you on your belly on his head and spins you around. You laugh and laugh and laugh.
- Daddy will do anything to make you laugh. He will make funny faces, do funny voices, even dance a funny dance. You think he is so funny!
- Some mornings when I come downstairs, you and Daddy are cuddled on the couch eating cookies! For breakfast!

Your Daddy hugs you and kisses you and tells you he loves you over and over again every day. You are a lucky boy to have a Daddy like him and he is so lucky too. You are so good to him, sweet and kind and cuddly. I love to watch the two of you - even if you won't share your breakfast cookies!

Love,
Mommy
