25 Random Things About Bodhi

1. Bodhi has one first name, two middle names, and many nicknames. His first name is a Sanskrit word which means "to awaken", his two middle names, Daniel and Christopher, are after is mommy and daddy and our favourite nicknames for him are Doodle, Chonky, and Bodhster.
2. He'll only drink directly from the tap - and I don't mean the one attached to the sink.
3. He loves to ride on his Daddy's shoulders and laughs uncontrollably the entire time he's up there.
4. He hates to have his nose wiped - actually he hates to have anything wiped.
5. He will drop everything as soon as he hears any music and will listen intently until it's over.
6. Without fail, if Bodhi is having trouble napping and we go for a walk to lull him to sleep, we will walk for an hour and he will fall asleep in the last 5 minutes.
7. Bodhi does NOT like being strapped into his car seat (possibly why his father refuses to do it).
8. Bodhi is loved by a lot of people. Mommy and Daddy, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, you name it. He's a lucky boy.
9. Bodhi LOVES applesauce - in fact, it's really all he ever wants to eat. Don't tell him about the vegetables that are usually hidden inside! He also loves lentils - who knew?
10. Bodhi is a vegetarian. Although there was a small beef gravy incident recently.
11. Bodhi has a beautiful, easy smile that lights up a room. He can make you feel like the most important person alive with that smile. He also laughs easily and does this little high pitched squeal when you tickle him. After looking back at home videos, I realized that he's been making this little squeal noise since he was tiny - laughing before he knew how to laugh! I must be very funny!
12. Bodhi spent almost the entire 41 weeks in my belly with his bum sticking out. It made for a very misshapen belly but it was always easy to find him.
13. Bodhi is extremely agile. At 9 months he's cruising all over the house, crawling over obstacles, and climbing up things onto the couch. Time to get myself some new running shoes!
14. He can turn his tongue upside down.
15. Bodhi seems to love turtles and frogs - maybe he just loves the colour green.
16. He is completely obsessed with the book "B is for Bear". We read it every night and whenever I put it back on the shelf to pick another book, he climbs over me to reach the shelf and pull it back down.
17. Bodhi has just reached the pull everything off of every shelf, out of every box, off of every table stage. I spend my days tidying up behind hurricane Bodhi while he discovers his world.
18. His favourite toys are anything that aren't toys - remote controls, phones, vinegar bottles - you name it!
19. Bodhi is very independent. He can sit forever and play happily with his toys until I make him pay attention to me again.
20. He has very strong legs and loves to stand. He will pull up on anything he can find and hang out there until he gets bored and decides to stand somewhere else. Favourite pulling up and standing spots are the couch, the dining room chairs, the kitchen doors, and the all-time favourite - the TV cabinet.
21. Bodhi loves recycling day. Two huge boxes filled with packaging - heaven! He could sit and pull every last scrap out all day long. It's very similar to his love of laundry day where he could sit and pull every last article of clothing out of the laundry baskets all day long.
22. He is a good restaurant companion. He sits happily in his highchair (with the odd trip to Mommy or Daddy's lap) and plays with his toys. He even lets us have dessert! Its a definite blessing for us - even if we have to eat dinner at 4:30pm!
23. Bodhi is NOT a performing seal. He will do the cutest/smartest/most incredible thing, but as soon as you try and get him to do it for someone else - no go! I spend every evening describing to Dan, in detail, all the things that Bodhi did during the day that he refuses to do on command!
24. He is a mover and a shaker. Just like his mama, our boy likes to travel. He's already done it all - travel by planes, trains, and automobiles - and boats, too! He's a great little traveler and hopefully will continue to be!
25. Bodhi is amazingly cute!!!!!
