Not to be outdone after Bodhi's birthday extravaganza, Dan is just coming to the end of a 5 day festival of birthday delight! Today is Dan's actual birthday but celebrations began the weekend before last when we visited the fam in Cambridge for a birthday lunch out and cake afterwards. This past weekend, Grandma C. came to visit and we put Bodhi to bed on Friday night, Dan and I snuck out for our first date in over a year! We had a beautiful dinner together, chatting (about Bodhi mostly) and laughing, but hurried home after dinner to our little missing appendage. The weekend was full of birthday fun with favourite meals, rented movies, baseball games, and lots and lots of relaxation. Today, on his birthday, Dan woke up to fresh baked muffins before heading off to work for the day. We had an excellent family dinner tonight with creme brulee for dessert and birthday presents to open. It has been a great few days!
Birthdays are a pretty big deal in our house. Every year I try to make Dan's birthday more special than the last and I hope this year was a good one for him. I can't think of anyone better to spoil. He is an incredible husband and an even better father and Bodhi and I are both so lucky to have him. He is supportive and caring and always good for a laugh (mostly at his expense - hee hee), but most of all he has so much love to give us. I feel loved by him every single day.
Today I am so grateful for June 2nd, 1971 - the day that this wonderful man was brought into the world and eventually into our lives. Happy Birthday Danny! I'm so glad you were born!
